“I cannot help but fall for the extraordinary determination and commitment of the protagonist and other activists.
I think the film keeps a rather good balance between the proponent and the opponent of dog consumption. It doesn’t refrain from showing the proponent. Through understanding both side’s opinions and actions, we can better understand the situation and the whole picture and thus have a better judgment.
More often than not, in real life, people refuse to reconcile with reality because of its brutality and atrocity. I agree it’s hard to confront ourselves with such a reality. But it’s precisely because of this, one of the most important responsibilities of the documentary is to show the cruel reality that we resist to confront. We cannot pretend that we don’t know anymore.”

“The depiction of violence... made me uncomfortable in a good way, forcing me to confront my biases that kept ignoring or in some cases excusing the systems enabling animal abuse... I would recommend this film because it presents a thought-provoking look at dog-eating. While watching the film, I kept wondering how much of my perception of the practice is shaped by a Western upbringing, but Yang gave a nuanced and compelling explanation as to why the practice needs to be stopped.”
